Month 4, day 19
HELMET IS DONE :D
I do not want to get headbutted by this thing lol But look at it it's all cool and shiny and stuff n_n
I've also started a new tutorial series by the same guy, this time about procedural shader networks. I thought it was gonna be a more in-depth breakdown of all the components of the shader editor and how they work together and combine into different materials, but no! It's so much better! It's showing me how to squoosh various components together so we can get multiple shaders on the same mesh without having to go into like texture painting and shit, and it's basically the same way they do it in the video games so I'm like hella hyped and excited and I've already learned a ton :D :D :D
Anyway we've still got a bit more to do but here's what I've got done so far :3
Tumblr media
Eventually those pistons are gonna be a different color, and all the edges are gonna get worn and/or torn
And then we're gonna plop some snow on it :D

I dunno if anyone out there is still hoping for the umbrella AU, but I have been thinking about it lately. I got nearly to the end before realizing that I needed to go back and restructure the beginning, and I (continue to) think the best way to address that is to print out the current version like double-spaced or something and write all over it, and just the printing alone felt like So Much Work for various reasons, let alone the editing. But I've used our current printer now! Several times! I printed out an entire book, one signature at a time, and nobody died! So now it feels easier.
My intention from the start with this AU was to not start posting until I had completely written it. That's sort of facilitated the multi-year run-up, but it also means that you guys weren't stuck with the version where I literally forgot to give Crowley any kind of existence beyond loving Aziraphale. 😬 (Which, excellent for some stories, absolutely, I've done a bunch myself and expect to do more someday. But not what I want for this one.)
Anyway! Just pondering instead of doing the simple approximately two-line change I need to make to this stored procedure in order to solve a ticket. (The people who originally wrote the software I now help maintain put,,,,,,so much of the logic into the sprocs, you guys. So much.)

when will bosses understand that people are going to prioritize convenience over obedience. if no one is doing the 'correct' procedure, find a way to make that procedure more convenient. or if you really can't do that, for legitimate reasons, at the very least remove the quick and easy alternative that people are already using. ffs

Honestly reminds me of pretty much every job I've ever had. "Here are the rules/laws/company policies that you must follow! Wait, why are you following those rules/laws/company policies?"
Adults: Following rules is good, not following rules is bad
Little me: Okay :] *follows a rule*
Adults: Oh my god look at this loser. He doesn't know that this rule is Secretly Okay To Not Follow. Dumbass. Let's all laugh at him

Understanding Blood Collection and Storage: A Vital Step in Modern Healthcare By Clinfinite Solutions
In the world of modern medicine, blood is one of the most crucial components for saving lives. Whether it's for surgery, trauma care, or chronic illness treatment, having access to safe and properly stored blood is essential. At Clinfinite Solutions, we understand the significance of reliable blood collection storage practices, which play a critical role in ensuring patient safety and effective healthcare delivery.
What Is Blood Collection and Storage?
Blood collection is the process of drawing blood from a donor for transfusion or laboratory testing. This can be done through venipuncture, where a needle is inserted into a vein, or through specialized methods like apheresis, where specific blood components like plasma or platelets are separated and collected.
Once collected, blood must be properly labeled, processed, and stored in controlled environments. This process is known as blood collection storage, and it ensures the blood remains safe, sterile, and usable for medical procedures.
Importance of Proper Blood Collection Storage
The process of blood collection storage is not just about keeping blood cold; it involves a series of careful steps that maintain its quality and usability. Blood can spoil if not stored correctly, leading to waste and potentially dangerous situations in hospitals.
Proper storage:
Preserves the function of blood components (red cells, plasma, platelets).
Prevents bacterial growth and contamination.
Extends the shelf life of blood units.
Ensures timely availability during emergencies.
At Clinfinite Solutions, we follow international standards and use advanced technologies to ensure that the blood collected is stored under optimal conditions.
Storage Conditions for Different Blood Components
Blood is made up of several components, each of which requires specific storage conditions to maintain its effectiveness:
Red Blood Cells (RBCs) are stored at 1–6°C and can be kept for up to 42 days.
Plasma is frozen at -18°C or lower and can last up to one year.
Platelets need to be kept at 20–24°C with constant agitation and are viable for about 5–7 days.
Cryoprecipitate, derived from plasma, is also stored frozen at -18°C and lasts up to one year.
These strict storage requirements ensure that when blood is needed, it’s in the best possible condition to help a patient recover or survive.
The Role of Technology in Blood Collection Storage
Clinfinite Solutions utilizes cutting-edge refrigeration systems, temperature monitoring devices, and digital inventory systems to manage blood collection and storage efficiently. Our systems help track each unit of blood from the moment it is collected until it is transfused, maintaining full traceability and safety.
We also ensure:
Continuous temperature checks.
Automated alerts in case of storage failure.
Routine maintenance of storage units.
Adherence to global safety standards and regulations.
With technology, we reduce the risk of human error and improve the overall reliability of the blood supply chain.
Challenges in Blood Collection and Storage
Despite advances in technology, there are challenges in maintaining a stable blood supply:
Blood has a limited shelf life and must be used before expiry.
Storage units require constant electricity, which may not be reliable in some regions.
Proper training and quality control are necessary to prevent errors in labeling or storing.
At Clinfinite Solutions, we address these challenges through staff training, emergency backup systems, and regular audits to ensure best practices are followed every step of the way.
Conclusion
Blood collection storage is a backbone of emergency medicine and planned healthcare procedures. With rising medical needs, the demand for efficient and safe blood management systems is more important than ever. Clinfinite Solutions is proud to be at the forefront of this critical healthcare service, ensuring that every drop of blood collected is stored, preserved, and used with utmost care and precision.

one goofy ass thing i like about my job is we all really like having staff feedback after programs (like after in service, after summer reading, etc) because it just makes it easier to make it actually helpful and easier next time around and that’s all we want right, like PERSONALLY i don’t want to be anxious about a program and dreading it all year, which means i get to do what i Love which is offer my opinion constructively so i can be like “i think some people just don’t understand paylocity, it is a little confusing & for them, going through that app is this scary time sink so they don’t open it ever.” and no one is taking it personally because five other people wrote in “beanstack scares me” and “i’m not using teams” and we can just adjust our expectations of our older coworkers instead of writing people up for it akskd.
#i was like “’not me tho i get it but maybe ask [tech person] to do an explainer? i believe they have a whole bit about this’#and then we get a explainer on it the next in service and all the tech afraid people are like ‘oh you can turn it on on the desktop?’ yes 😭#we had a whole thing about office bc they’ve tried to explain they pinned the ‘POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ON REPORTED LOST CHILD’ on the#share point bc it’s a library that’s something that happens on a semi regular basis and we live off a busy street it’s important to make#sure the kid didn’t wander out of the building those cars Will mow you down.#and the collective ‘OH!’ when they showed us how to get to the sharepoint. i figured that out day 2.#i bookmarked the page and added my own books marks. like half of them were shocked.#they have been here 10 years or more. 😭#i like to say ‘i love hearing about what the director does during the day i think the projects are all fascinating’ bc i think phrasing a#compliment for like ~admin transparency~ as a compliment is imo the best way to reward admin transparency.#also tbh yes it Is interesting to me like being a director is honestly a lot about Building Maintenence as it is budget and networking and#managing big problems with staff etc. it’s honestly fascinating how much she has to know about upkeep as director.#also. listen i’m sorry i love being bribed with food. have office hours with snacks. give me an excuse not to work.#i loved staff day at goodwill too i loved not dealing w work and badgering the corporate guy while the managers worked the front#and then getting pizza. they would grill for us on employee appreciation day.#do u know what my department store did. they gave us a payday bar.#that shits insulting like just don’t do anything? u Kno u pay shit and have is on these ass schedules what’s your problem why are u gloating#now ya closed!#it’s karma!#anyways this one is nice i think my manager is really bad at schedules and this is a gripe i’ve heard from wveryon so it’s not just me but#it’s other wise as everyone puts it ‘not nearly as toxic as other libraries’ like no one here is actively committing psychological warfare#over some office job nonsense. our patrons aren’t actively trying to get us shut down. that’s a nice change.

Actually so obsessed with how much juice there is in this episode, like the fact that choosing to become severed basically brands you as unhireable anywhere else because 1. the ethics and optics of it are so controversial to people 2. outties essentially have no discernible skills that would look good on a resumé because they aren't the ones who actually work, a major cost of the convenience that the procedure offers
Which means they are really only employable by Lumon. They truly do sell their soul to the company store.

Utilizing Stored Procedures for Better Database Security and Manageability
Stored procedures are a vital component in database management, offering a range of benefits. They are precompiled sets of one or more SQL statements that are stored and can be reused. This allows for improved performance, as the database server does not need to recompile the SQL code each time it is executed. Additionally, stored procedures enhance security by allowing permissions to be set at…
